Police in Ward 1 announced on Monday that a British and Thai tourist came and said a restaurant in Da Lat Night Market had overcharged them.
According to their report to police, they came to eat at Hanh Tam Restaurant on the evening of August 6. Although they only ordered two bowls of chicken noodles, a dish of chicken salad, and a dish of chicken giblets, the restaurant also brought a dish of chicken meat.
The two tourists did not eat the chicken meat but the restaurant still charged them for that. The total meal cost VND 460,000 (USD20.27), the report said.
When the police came, Hanh Tam Restaurant admitted their mistake and repaid them VND200,000.
The restaurant has recently been fined for overcharging and causing public disorders.
There have been stories about visitors being cheated at many shops and restaurants in the central highland city.
Earlier, a chicken rice restaurant in Ankoroet Street in Ward 7 was also fined for swindling customers out of their deposit.
On June 28, Nguyen Thi K.P and a group of friends came to Tam Nguyen Restaurant to eat. But the restaurant refused to serve them and did not return their deposit of VND 1 million (USD44).
