South East Asia is every traveller's dream. Unique landscapes, awesome food, excellent value accommodation options, and the possibility of travelling around the region in total comfort and without breaking the bank. Vietnam makes for the perfect introduction to South East Asia. In recent years, the country has significantly improved its infrastructure, and it now features three international airports, conveniently located in the North, the South, and the central region.

Saigon People's Committee Building

1- Popular tourist destinations from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) international airport

The Tan Son Nhat International Airport is Vietnam's largest airport. The airport is conveniently located just 4 miles north of Saigon city, and it can be easily reached by taxi and air conditioned bus. Currently, the airport manages destinations like Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, China, Brunei, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia. All these flights depart from the new international terminal (terminal 2). - Tokyo. There are at least seven reasonably priced airlines flying to and from Tokyo. Direct flights take 10 hours and land in Narita airport. From there, you can take public transportation into town and visit the renowned districts of Shibuya, Akihabara, and Shinjuku, or simply rent a bike and discover at your own pace places like Korakuen Park and Inokashira Park. For the best views of Mount Fuji, head to nearby Hakone - Manila. Cebu Pacific, one of the Philippines' most important carriers, flies to and from Saigon airport daily. Flights last three and a half hours and can be booked from as little as £50 one way. Manila is a sprawling metropolis of almost 4 million people. The fascinating cultural heritage of the Philippines can still be observed at many places in this huge city. Take a walk around Manila's Chinatown (one of the largest in the world), or visit the area known as Intramuros, with its remnants from the Spanish occupation. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can retreat to Rizal Park and take a stroll through its manicured gardens. Some interesting day trips from Manila include Taal lake and the nearby volcano, the Pagsanjan falls, and Subic bay.

Hanoi, motorcycle parking

2- Popular tourist destinations from Hanoi international airport

Noi Bai international airport is located on the outskirts of Hanoi. Flights go to almost every South East Asian country, Eastern Europe, and Russia. From Hanoi's airport you could fly to - Bangkok. This destination is served by three airlines, one of which is low-cost carrier Air Asia. In just two hours you can be in the middle of a metropolis bustling with cheap and flavorful exotic food, exciting nightlife, and a unique mixture of modernity and ancient traditions. Do not miss the chance to visit one of Bangkok's floating markets. Taking a cruise along the Chao Praya river is also a must - Taipei. Taiwan's capital is only two and a half hours away from Hanoi. The city is a fascinating example of eastern culture adapted to modern life. For a bird's eye view of the city climb to the top of the world's second highest skyscraper, the Taipei 101.

3- Popular tourist destinations from Danang international airport

This airport serves international destinations like China, Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. Getting to Singapore from Danang involved at least one stopover, but the destination is well worth it. Huge shopping malls, Indian, Chinese, and Malay cuisine, tropical beaches, and a bewitching skyline await the visitor in Singapore. In addition, Singapore's airport itself is a tourist attraction, featuring Jacuzzi swimming pools, exotic gardens, gaming stations, and classy restaurants, providing an introduction to what's to come in the city.
