An exhibition featuring the Vietnam – Cambodia alliance in their
past wars and current comprehensive co-operation opened at the Vietnam Military
History Museum in Hanoi on June 15 to promote the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship
Year 2012 and mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two
countries (June 24, 1967 – 2012).
Over 300 photographs, documents and exhibits are on show, reflecting the
traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive co-operation between the
two Parties, States, armies and peoples.
The exhibition includes four sections showcasing how the Vietnamese Party, State
and Army has nurtured the relationship with Cambodia; the military coalition
between the two sides during the resistance wars against French colonialism and
American imperialism (1945-1975); and Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts
helping Cambodians escape from the genocidal Pol Pot regime and rebuild their
country (1978-1989); as well as the current solidarity and comprehensive
co-operation for national construction and protection (1990-2012).
The exhibition will be open to visitors until July 15.
