Vietnam traditional festivals in August Tet Trung Nguyen
Time: 15th day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: Pagodas in the country and in families.
Objects of worship: The Buddha.
Activities: The deceased pardoning ceremony, praying to clear of false charges.
The fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month festival - Great festival at pagodas include Vu Lan ceremony of Buddhism (also called forgive the loss souls) and fufill filial duty of Buddhist: ceremony of praying to clear the souls of false charges, open-door ceremony to forgive the loss souls, souls offering and food giving as alms ceremonies. It is the day that official in the hades forgive the loss souls arrive to living world to enjoy official involvement. Every family prepares a feast, offer votive paper to ancestors and wandering souls who are without incense-smoke.

Traditional festivals in Hoa Binh province:
Vietnam traditional festivals in August Cau Phuc Festival (Praying for good fortune Festival)
Time: The eighth lunar month.
Location: Mai Chau District, Hoa Binh Province.
Activities: The Praying for good fortune Festival of the Thai in Mai Chau. Every family prepares worshipping meal to set table in common shrine follow the principles: this year the offering is chicken, next year the offering is pig. In the afternoon, each family kills two chickens to worship Kitchen God (set in house) and Earth genie (set at field).

Vietnam traditional festivals in August Dao Xa Festival
Time: 9th day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: Dao Xa Commune, Thanh Thuy District, Phu Tho Province.
Objects of worship: Hung Hai Cong and three Royal Highest mandarins who had merit of helping people control floods, Princess Que Hoa.
Activities: Praying for water ceremony, after worshipping take trai down and race boat at night.

Traditional festivals in Hung Yen province:
Vietnam traditional festivals in August Man Tru Commune Festival
Time: The 2nd day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: Khoai Chau District, Hung Yen Province.
Objects of worship: Seven Royal Highest mandarins (Hai, Linh, Long, Loi, Luong, Nhao, Son) in the reign of Hung Vuong, who had merit of quelling a revolt in Hung Hoa.
Activities: The offerings include buffalo, goat, pig; and entertainment.
Vietnam traditional festivals in August Ngoc Lich Hamlet Festival
Time: The 3rd day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: Ngoc Lich Hamlet, Van Lam District, Hung Yen Province.
Objects of worship: Three Royal Highest mandarins - village's tutelary gods: Lam Lang, Linh Lang, Ngoc Luyen, who had talent in fighting the aggressors (in the reign of Hung Vuong).
Activities: Slaughtering buffalo for offering to worship.

Vietnam traditional festivals in August Cai Cong Temple Festival
Time:7th day of the seventh lunar month and the 10th day to the 12th day of the second lunar month.
Location: Thuong Thanh Village, Thanh Cao Commune, Thanh Oai District, Ha Tay Province.
Objects of worship:Mr. Cai Cong, a general of Hai Ba Trung, who impersonated a woman to take part in the insurgent army.
Activities: Procession, vegetarian feast, Chinese chess, wrestling, cock fighting.
Vietnam traditional festivals in August Chang Son Festival
Time: From the 18th to the 19th day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: Chang Son Commune, Thach That District, Ha Tay Province.
Objects of worship: Water genie, and three gods who had merit of fighting Thuc troops: Tan Vien, Cao Son, Qui Minh.
Activities: Procession of water genie's votive tablet, wrestling, cock fighting, swinging, Chinese chess, to tom, water puppetry, a dao singing, cheo performance.

Vietnam traditional festivals in August Cao Dai Village Festival
Time: The 22nd day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: Cao Dai Village, My Thanh Commune, My Loc District, Nam Dinh Province.
Objects of worship: The Great tutor Tran Quang Khai and Princess Phung Duong (his wife).
Activities: Procession of god, sacrifice-offering ceremony, performance of the old tales of arresting invaders by fishermen, the female lord of Muong cooking rice for the soldiers, and games such as wrestling, contests of duck catching, trai racing, cloth weaving.

Time: 12th day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: Thuy Hai Commune, Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh Province.
Objects of worship: Nguyen Cang.
Activities: Water procession at sea.

Time: The 20th day of the seventh lunar month and the 10th day of the tenth lunar month.
Location: Vong La Hamlet, Vong La Commune, Dong Anh District, Hanoi.
Objects of worship: Three Royal Highest mandarins: Cung Mac, Linh Khon and Minh Chieu, who had merit of assistant the 18th Hung King fighting aggressors.
Activities: Trai racing contest.

Location: Phu Vang District, Thua Thien - Hue Province.
Objects of worship: God of opening rice paddies Ho Quang Lanh and families Nguyen, Huynh, Doan.
Activities: Procession of god, chess playing, cock fighting.
Vietnam traditional festivals in August Minh Huong Festival
Time: From the 14th to the 16th day of the seventh lunar month.
Location:Minh Huong Village, Dien Hai Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien-Hue Province.
Objects of worship: God of the opening rice paddies.
Activities: Procession of god, boat racing, great worshipping is held in once every 3-year.

Vietnam traditional festivals in August Do Gian Festival
Time: The 15th day of the seventh lunar month.
Location: An Thai Village, An Nhon District, Binh Dinh Province.
Objects of worship: Ba (a goddess of the sea).
Activities: Praying for good weather, happiness and wealth for villagers; sacrifice-offering ceremony, bôi singing, souls-of-the-dead worshiping and do gian (an old custom of the local people in which the offering is roast pork. When the sacrifice-offering ceremony finishes, roast pork is thrown down from trellis).

Time: From the 30th day of the seventh lunar month to the 1st day of the eighth lunar month.
Location: Le Van Duyet Tomb, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Objects of worship: Ta quan Le Van Duyet.
Activities: Cau yen ceremony, performance of many people.
